In January 2026, Khayelitsha Cookies proudly represented South Africa at Gulfood in Dubai, one of the world’s leading food and beverage trade shows, marking a major milestone in our journey from Khayelitsha to the global stage.
From South Hall 7, Stand 39-30, we showcased our hand-baked cookies, sharing not just our products, but the people and purpose behind every batch. Our Chocolate & Spinach Cookies stood out as one of the most talked-about items at the show, praised for their innovative, health-focused ingredients and bold flavour.
We were also shortlisted for the Gulfood Innovation Awards 2026 in the Best Baked Product category — a meaningful recognition of both our quality and our commitment to doing business differently.
But for us, Gulfood was about more than international exposure. It was a chance to tell our story, a story of 93 women empowered through employment, of choosing job creation over automation, and of building a business rooted in dignity, opportunity, and community upliftment.
Standing on a global platform reminded us that something baked with love can inspire people around the world.
We return home next week after the show, grateful, proud, and more committed than ever to baking with purpose — one cookie at a time.
